چکیده

In thisworkwe investigate a diffusive Gierer–Meinhardt systemwith gene expression time delays in the production of activators and inhibitors, and also a saturation in the activator production, which was proposed by Seirin Lee et al. (2010) [10]. We rigorously consider the basic kinetic dynamics of the Gierer–Meinhardt system with saturation. By using an upper and lower solution method, we show that when the saturation effect is strong, the unique constant steady state solution is globally attractive despite the time delays. This result limits the parameter space for which spatiotemporal pattern formation is possible. © 2013 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Joint influence of leakage delays and proportional delays on almost periodic solutions for FCNNs

This paper deals with fuzzy cellular neural networks (FCNNs) with leakage delays and proportional delays. Applying the differential inequality strategy, fixed point theorem and almost periodic function principle, some sufficient criteria which ensure the existence and global attractivity of a unique almost periodic solution for fuzzy cellular neuralnetworks with leakage delays and p...

Persistence and attractivity in an N-species ratio-dependent predator-prey system with distributed time delays

An N -species ratio-dependent predator–prey food-chain model with distributed time delays is investigated. It is shown that the system is permanent under some appropriate conditions, and sufficient conditions are obtained for the global attractivity of the positive equilibrium of the system. ! 2002 Elsevier Science Inc. NSERC USRA Report: The Influence of Delay in Gene Expression Models and Their Associated Nonlocal Eigenvalue Problems

In a paper written by Seirin Lee et al. (2010), the influence of gene expression time delays on GiererMeinhardt pattern formation systems is discussed. The original model being modified stems from a Turing model for the interaction of two morphogens (an activator and an inhibitor) and their kinetics over long periods of time. Seirin Lee et al. show that spatial instabilities in both morphogens ...

Detection of gene expression and sequence analysis of chicken class II trans activator (CIITA)

BACKGROUND:Class II transactivator (CIITA) is a dominanttranscriptional element, controlling numerous genes in theimmune system. CIITA is expressed in a constitutive pattern inantigen presenting cells although its expression can occur inother cell types. Since the revelation of CIITA, there have beenconsiderable advances toward understanding its role as anactivator of MHC II genes in humans and...

Global stability of Cohen-Grossberg neural network with both time-varying and continuous distributed delays

In this paper, a generalized neural network of Cohen-Grossberg type with both discrete time-varying and distributed unbounded delays is considered. Based on M-matrix theory, sufficient conditions are established to ensure the existence and global attractivity of an equilibrium point. The global exponential stability of the equilibrium is also addressed but for the model with bounded discrete ti...
